Throw back Thursday.

It was great to be coaching again and to put my forty years plus experience of training and learning to help others move forward with their journey.  I especially want to thank former World Champ Russ Williams for his continuing belief in me and requesting I take his class and students for a session.

I think it shows not only faith in me but his belief in himself for requesting I do something different he clearly shows he wants the best for his students to gain from a new perspective. On my part I was happy to use my experience of having trained and learnt in the USA, Europe, Thailand and Australia with top instructors.

I am so fortunate to be able to help my son and daughter as part of the process and I’m thankful to them for reigniting my desire in the sport. It’s always gratifying to see young people develop and learn.

So my throw back Thursday is all about rediscovering a flicker of a flame that never went out and the passion that remained. In fact I’ve learnt something new about myself that is was never the doing but doing it well that mattered and motivated me.

In the photo I was demonstrating multiple kicks a bit like can can dancer constantly raising their leg. In this instance I did 15 on each leg and I was still relatively fast and my knee is high which is good technique. At 56 I’m feeling pretty proud for my Throw back Thursday.
