1970’s TV Kung Fu with David Carradine.

Saturday night TV in the 70’s included a must see in Kung Fu. It was powerful stuff to witness the meek and mild conquer and defeat the seemingly tough.

I hung on to words of wisdom and attempted to find the hidden meaning in them. That’s the thing about words their true power is revealed to us in time.

I like many other devotees to the Martial Arts Practiced because I wanted to be able to look after myself and not be bullied. Only later in life did I realise and learn that the vast majority of devotees did so for the very same reason and some were competing at very high levels. Sort of makes you ????. Our high achievers are motivated to survive the streets and in going to Martial Arts classes honed a respect for the opposition. Who hasn’t witnessed two great fighters after a big battle hug one another.

In my experience bullying is stopped through confidence and confidence is built on the framework of being able to do and being praised by someone your child respects.

Words can be crushing and especially in our 24hr society so my advice is find a Martial Arts club were YOUR kids esteem is built on what they can do  and the instructors praise them as your kids will grow in confidence.

Good parenting.
